Visit Fabrique de Patrimoines to the Channel Islands
From 24 to 25 September, several members of the Fabrique de Patrimoines visited the Channel Islands as part of the cooperation agreement renewed in 2023 between Jersey Heritage, the Jersey Society and Guernsey Museums and Galleries. After welcoming an Anglo-Norman delegation last year, it is now the turn of the Fabrique’s counterparts to visit the Channel Islands. The Normandy delegation was composed of representatives of the Fabrique network and the Museums of Le Havre, Vire and William the Conqueror’s castle in Falaise.
In Jersey, the Normandy delegation visited Jersey Museum, the Société Jersiaise, Jersey Archive, and the emblematic castle of Mont Orgueil. This provided a valuable opportunity for the delegation to discover their missions and explore future collaborations for the Millenium – 2027 European Year of the Normans.
In Guernsey, the delegation visited the Guernsey Museum, the Priaulx Library, Guernsey archives and the famous home of Victor Hugo, Hauteville House. These annual meetings fuel exchanges and nurture prospects for cooperation between the Channel Islands and the Normandy region. Exciting projects ahead!
